Electronic wallpaper!

So you're sick of the colour of your walls and the pattern makes you want to puke! But instead of hacking the wallpaper off with a rusty scraper and damp sponge, what if you could change the appearance of your walls by sitting at a computer and simply uploading a new colour scheme and design? Well the technology is already here - digital wallpaper is coming!

Italian whiz Dario Buzzini has engineered wallpaper that can display digital images via information sent to it from a computer or mobile phone. You can even upload text messages, emails and snaps that you've taken on your mobile onto the wacky wallpaper! Plus its touch-sensitive, enabling you to interact with it and possibly eradicating the need for ugly light switches.

Buzzini's project began as a humble thesis, but it's now in the process of being developed into a commercial product. However we can't imagine that you'll be able to pick up rolls of the stuff from MFI for a few years yet. We'll keep you posted on all the latest news in the world of digital decoration, so stay tuned.
