Daughter named Facebook to mark country's revolution

A proud Egyptian dad has named his new born daughter ‘Facebook’ in celebration of the country’s recent revolution.

Jamal Ibrahim, 20, told local newspaper Al-Ahram, he was so chuffed with the role Mark Zuckerberg’s website played in toppling former president Hosni Mubarak that he felt compelled to name his daughter after it.

Facebook Jamal Ibrahim, born last week commemorates the revolution, which was trending globally on social networks last month was orchestrated through Facebook.

With Libya also going up in smoke and grumbles coming from a host of other Middle Eastern states this could be the start of an ongoing trend.
