EA: Sony PS3 can trump Microsoft Xbox 360 in the UK
Video game publisher thinks PS3 can beat Xbox 360 in the UK market
EA's European senior VP Jens Uwe Intat thinks Sony has the potential to catch up with Microsoft Xbox 360 in the gaming wars, despite a slow start in the market. EA feels the PlayStation 3 could still catch up with Xbox 360 in the UK hardware market.
Intant said: "We could certainly see Sony come back – in the UK it’s still a head-to-head competition between PlayStation and Xbox, but on the continent Sony is traditionally stronger than Microsoft."
He added that EA was happy with the competition because their aim was to get more consumers in, which meant EA could sell games to more people.
A recent survey showed that the PlayStation Move was set to outsell Microsoft Kinect, so perhaps his prediction is not far off the mark. In addition, Sony's PS3 had outsold the Xbox 360 by 28% in the quarter ending June 30 2010, so it's a matter of time before the gaming battle results are decided.
