E.On offers £10,000 prize for tech ideas
If you've recently had a great energy-saving and life-enhancing idea, you could scoop a £10,000 future home makeover, courtesy of E.On.
The German-owned energy purveyor has essentially made its own TV programme, Home of the Future, for Channel 4 and has now teamed up with T3 cover star Pollyanna Woodward to launch a competition cum crowd-sourcing exercise off the back of it, with a first prize of £10,000 up for grabs.
Go to www.eon-innovation.com and, as social marketeers put it, "join the conversation" about future technology in the fields of work, rest, play, well-being and ladders.
You can suggest new services, products and ideas that will save the UK’s hard-pressed punters energy, time and money and if your idea is sufficiently green and groovy, Eon will put it into production and give you a home makeover.
You can also comment on others’ ideas and vote on the eventual winners in the five categories, all of whom will scoop £2,000-worth of bleeding-edge homewares, while the overall winner will get a £10,000 makeover.
Home of the Future is on Channel 4 on Sundays at 7pm, and on 4oD.
