Not content with conquering the hip hop crowd with the original Beats by Dr Dre headphones, Monster is now chasing music-loving fashionistas with its newly-launched Heartbeats By Lady Gaga earphones.

It's the feminine spin on the Dre 'phones, pitched as much as a fashion accessory as personal audio. But don't write these off as a bit of token bling, Heartbeats By Lady Gaga are every bit as audiophile as the original kit. According to Monster, they are engineered to deliver the music as 'the artist intended you to hear', offering high-end sonic clarity and a pounding bass that should do justice to any tune, not just a poptastic Gaga track. According to head of Monster, Noel Lee: 'There is no headphone that sounds quite like it, regardless of price.' Then again, he's selling them, so you might want to try before you buy.

Regardless of the sound, the design will be the ultimate decider on whether these wrap around your ears. Some will no doubt love that jewel-inspired chrome earpiece, tangle-free cable, signature bar and bold red carry case. Lady Gaga fans at a guess. Others will find it just a bit too much for the morning commute. But if the glitzy look does float your boat and you splash out on a pair, you'll also find the rather useful Monster ControlTalk feature hidden away, which features an integrated high grade microphone and answer button for accessing music and answering phone calls on your iPhone and 'some' BlackBerry models. Nice touch.

So when can you pick up a pair of Heartbeats By Lady Gaga earphones? We don't know. Monster is starting to ship these in October in the US for an as-yet undisclosed price. We would hope they make it to the UK in time for Christmas, but we wouldn't bank on it.

I have a pair of these earphones, and did i say how awesome they are? I got the Rose Red ones and they are totally so hot, and you know what they play the music really well too. I think they are just awesome. Why wouldnt anyone buy them? THis is where i got mine - <a href="These earphones are totally great.
