DivX hits PS3

New updates today mean you'll be watching all those perfectly legit' videos via your Sony hub.

We already knew that the PSP was getting a facelift today, but Sony's sneaked out some spanking new firmware for the PS3 too.

Version 2.10 packs support for DivX and VC-1 video support, so you can get round to watching all those videos you've got stashed away. Or just watch hour after hour of classic DivX coded goals you've been snaffling off the web.

The Blu-Ray player's also been given a bump, up to 1.1 standard. Not only does this mean picture in picture playback, but also that the PS3 is, pound for pound, still the best blu-flavoured hi-def deck out there.

And for those who use the console for, you know, gaming and stuff, the Big S has also added voice masking, so you can do annoying Seagal impressions while you're playing Resistance. Class.
