Dead Island developer Deep Silver denies reports of a follow-on release stating there is no Dead Island 2 title currently "in concept or production"
Following on from last year’s zombie-filled release, developer Deep Silver has denied recent rumours that it is working on a sequel to Dead Island.
Whilst reports have been floated on a potential Dead Island 2 release in conjunction with Yager Development, Deep Silver representatives have denied such rumours suggesting there are currently no plans to create a follow-on to the zombie thriller.
Having gripped the gaming world ahead of launch thanks to a now iconic, cinematic-style trailer, Dead Island failed to live up to the expectation it had laid out for itself with developers now revealing a follow-on is neither “in concept or production.”
"We are neither working with Yager on Dead Island 2 nor do we have any contractual agreement with Yager about any project at this point," Deep Silver development director Guido Eickmeyer said in a recent interview.
“Just to clarify,” he added: “We have neither something in place or in discussion between the parties that would explain such news, nor do we have Dead Island 2 in concept or production with external partners."
