Denon launches DVD-2500BT Blu-ray player
High-end disc transporting for a wallet-bothering price
You can bag a Blu-ray player for under 200 notes these days, but if you're serious about cinema, we're guessing you'll be looking a little higher up the spectrum. Which is where the Denon DVD-2500BT comes in.
Well, we say 'player', but that's only half the story. The £900 DVD-2500BT is a 'transport', meaning you'll need a matching A/V receiver too for the decoding, not to mention a long chat with the bank manager. Why? well according to Denon, any receiver worth its salt already offers audio/video Blu-ray processing, leaving them more cash to throw at the transport.
And that money has been used on a unique drive mechanism for both Blu-ray and standard DVD discs, protecting from dust and magnetic influences, as well as a Suppress Vibration Hybrid (S.V.H.) loader for more stable rotation, upscaling of standard discs and output of video and digital audio signals via the 1.3a HDMI port.
If your high-def discs are need that kind of love and affection, you can pick one up the DVD-2500BT in black, silver and premium silver finishes in the coming weeks.
