Dell has announced it is to release a 10-inch Honeycomb tablet later this summer with specifications for the aptly named the Dell Streak Pro being made available for the first time.
The tablet, which is expected to ship touting Honeycomb version 3.0 of Google's Android operating system, has been tipped to be one of the first devices to come boxed with the update version 3.1 of the tablet-centric OS although such reports are as of yet unconfirmed.
Dell Streak Pro specs that have been confirmed, however, will see the 10-inch tablet sporting a 1280 x 800 resolution screen and integrated storage options of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Prices for the range of Dell tablets have yet to be released by the computer giants.
Other Dell Streak Pro features include a 5-megapixel camera on the back, as well as a front-facing 2-megapixel snapper for video calls. Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and Wi-Fi options will also come as standard.
Until now, Dell’s Android tablet offerings have failed to make a dent in the market dominance of Apple's iPad and iPad 2, with both the Streak and Streak 7 failing to make an impact in the crowded tablet market.
Dell will be hoping that the Streak Pro, equipped with a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, which the latest Samsung tablets will carry.
