Casio's 10 megapixel snapper
The EX-Z1000: ultra-sharp pictures from an ultra-tiny camera.
Big, luscious pictures from a teeny weeny package - it's every camera user's dream (probably). And now Casio are trying to make that dream a reality by launching the EX-Z1000, a point 'n' shoot snapper with 10.1 megapixels.
To get sharp, non-blurred images out of such a camera you're either going to need a tripod, arms as steady as rocks or a kick-ass stabilisation mode. Casio assumes that you probably won't have either of the first two, so it has stuck in Anti-Shake DSP to help reduce blurring.
You can check out your pictures on the wide format 2.8-inch Super Bright LCD screen, and other features include a 3x optical zoom, quick start up (you can shoot pictures 1.3 seconds after switching it on), long battery life (360 shots per charge) and a Rapid Flash function that lets you take three shots per second.
The EX-Z1000 will go on sale in mid-May, priced at around £380. Head over to www.casio.co.uk if you want to learn more.
