Canon IXUS 230 HS release set for October with a £229 price tag

Canon has unveiled its latest range of IXUS compact cameras with the Canon IXUS 230 HS landing as a super-slim 12.1-megapixel offering with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities.

The latest snapper to land sporting Canon’s High Sensitivity HS branding the IXUS 230 HS is a low light specialist with a 28mm wide lens boasting 8x optical zoom slotted within a minimalist 22.1mm thick body.

Set to be made available in six colour schemes, pink, blue, black, silver, green and purple, the 230 boasts a 12.1-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a 3-inch rear-mounted LCD display allowing for crisp image and video playback.

Heading for an October release with a £229 price tag the Canon IXUS 230 HS also plays host to a range of additional features including 240fps Super Slow Motion video capture and high-speed burst shooting that lets users capture up to 8.7 shots per second.
