So it turns out that some people just couldn't wait the couple of days until its release with reports that gamers have been hitting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as early as Friday afternoon.
Gaming website CVG has reported that apparently independent stores have been selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as early as Friday afternoon with many gamers getting onto the multiplayer over the weekend ahead of its official launch this evening.
There had been talk that even if players had bought legitimate copies they may still be banned from using Xbox Live if they played the game online over the weekend. This was quickly backtracked on though after some players had voiced concerns over legitimately obtained copies and the unfairness involved if bans were dished out.
Since then Infinity Ward's creative strategist Robert Bowling confirmed via Twitter that no such bans would be issued however asked players to hold out until tomorrow.
"No plans to ban legit fans, but try to wait til midnight launch on Tuesday to play #MW3,"
