Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made a extravagant debut at E3 by showing off almost 10 minutes of gameplay footage at the start of the Xbox: Future Revealed Conference.
Two trailers have so far been seen at E3, the first showed a special forces team take down a Russian submarine by planting underwater mines and then storming the crippled behemoth. Once above the water it was clear that this was set in one of their key locations New York, and it had most certainly seen better days. The city had been turned into a battleground with fighters up above and fleets of ships in the river, all of which seemed to be exploding.
In the second of the trailers more of the new features found in CoD:Modern Warfare 3 could be seen. Swappable sights allows the player have multiple types of sight on the same weapon, increasing the functionality of the weapon. We also saw the return of controllable vehicles such as the Reaper Drone, allowing you to reign down destruction. Last but not least was the suggestion that environments have become more destructible, showcasing a grenade launcher taking down a satellite dish.
In what was set to be a Kinect dominated conference the game still managed to produce a few gasps after it showed the sheer scale of what was to be expected from the latest in the Call of Duty franchise.
