Set to launch alongside the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date on November 8th, wannabe Call of Duty: Elite subscribers will need to pay an annual fee of £34.99 to gain access to a series of new features and additional COD content.
As well as receiving access to all Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content packs released within the next year, paid Elite subscribers will be able to compete in gaming tournaments for real-world prizes such Jeeps and receive access to professional strategy and analysis videos.
Whilst a paid subscription is available to eager gamers Call of Duty Elite will feature a selection of free content with access to in-depth gamer stats and online class customisation.
"When we announced Elite we wanted to do three things," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. "We didn't want to take anything away from our fans. We wanted to make the experience better for every COD player out of the box. And we wanted to create a premium membership for our fans who want to go further."
Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 be the best game of 2011 or will it be toppled by Battlefield 3, FIFA 12 or one of the other top titles yet to hit shelves? Let us know what you think via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
