Dave Anthony, Game Director for Call of Duty: Black Ops believes people will love the new multiplayer action and confirms that Zombie mode is back
Call of Duty fans can expect to be "blown away" by the multiplayer mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 according to its Game Director Dave Anthony.
Anthony who has worked on previous instalments of the enormous gaming franchise, told T3 in an interview at E3 2012 this week, that fans can
expect something very different from previous multiplayer modes and that Treyarch will be expanding on details over the coming months.
Whilst remaining cagey on the new features to look forward to for online Black Ops 2 action, Anthony claims Treyarch has re-imagined the multiplayer action saying, "We sat down and tried to work out how we could surprise people. Multiplayer is no different to that. We've made a real emphasis on the social side of this because we know people play this with a lot of friends with the focus on trying to encompass all of that in the experience. I think it's going to blow people away."
As well as talking all things online, Anthony also revealed what inspired the decision to go down the futuristic route for Black Ops 2, and the role Wired for War author Peter Singer played in crafting the story that involves the presence of unmanned vehicles, Geopolitics and a female President: "Peter is looking at how the world is going to be trading in 2025, he was our one stop solution for what the world was going to look like. We didn't want this to feel sci-fi, we wanted it to feel like this could actually happen. Peter was invaluable from that point of view."
There was also confirmation of a Zombie mode that promises to be "bigger than ever" and will support up to eight players to play the fan favourite game mode. You can read all of T3's Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Dave Anthony interview here.
