D-Link already has a host of content providers on board with the likes of BBC, Last.fm, Channel 4, ITV providing apps for the nifty little streaming box.
On the specs front, the Boxee Box includes an onboard Intel Atom CE4100 processor to help deliver 1080p HD, a two-sided QWERTY remote control, and Flash 10.1 support so you can watch video from most websites. There's also optical/stereo audio, 2 USB ports and 1 SD card slot.
If you don't fancy navigating from the accompanying remote, you can also use your iPhone, Android or Palm Pre handset to flick through content via free remote control apps.
With Google TV expected in October and the revamped Apple TV also set to arrive next month, it could be a three-way battle to convince consumers to add internet compatiblity to their tellies.
Boxee Box is expected to be priced at around £199. Pre-orders from retailers such as Amazon will be available soon, and you can expect to get your hands on it by mid-November.
