Blaupunkt TravelPilot 100: back to basics satnav
Satnav takes a step in the right direction with stripped down feature list
If you're the kind of motorist who doesn't feel the need to browse family photos, listen to your Kenny G back catalogue and photograph the wildlife while cruising down the M4 at 90mph then Blaupunkt's latest satnav could be for you.
"Simplicity is key" is the message from the German manufacturer. And its TravelPilot 100 GPS system offers good old no frills navigation without the needless raft of entertainment options most are now endowed with.
Instead it's opted for crazy ideas like "easy operation", "accurate route guidance" using visual and acoustic turning, and "high-speed route calculation". All revolutionary ideas we're sure you'll agree.
The feature count is stripped down but not basic, with optimal routing, speed limit alerts, auto day and night switching and error tolerant name input (handy if your spellling isn't up too skratch). Pre-installed maps are for the UK and Ireland, displayed on the 3.5-inch screen.
Cost and release date are yet to be mentioned, but we'd expect it to be more Bargain Boulevard than Expensiveness Highway.
