BlackBerry is back and ready to tough it out

Having spent some time in the shadows of Apple and Android releases, three new BlackBerry handsets have leaked and appeared in a series of hands-on videos.

Most notable of the three new handsets is the long rumoured and highly anticipated BlackBerry 9800 Slider. This exciting new handset is joined on its premature outing by the new BlackBerry 9670 and BlackBerry 9300 models.

Named after its slide out full QWERTY keyboard the 9800 Slider can be seen in the video (below) running the new BlackBerry 6.0 OS on its 360x480p 3.2-inch touchscreen. The handset, which has leaked numerous times in recent weeks, is also reported to boast 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity alongside an auto-focus and flash touting 5-megapixel camera.

The BlackBerry 9300, which like the 9800 Slider has also been leaked before, is joined in the line-up of new RIM handsets by the fellow OS 6.0 powered BlackBerry 9670. As well as packing 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, the 9670 is expected to support a 5-megapixel camera, up from the 3.2-meg snapper on the leaked handset, by the time it reaches shelves.

These leaked videos come the same week that, whilst in Canada, the Queen was privy to a private tour of RIM, the company behind the BlackBerry smartphones. Coincidence? We find it highly suspicious.

Currently no confirmed launch dates or prices has been released for the upcoming fleet of new BlackBerry devices. To keep track of all the latest BlackBerry and gadget news, follow the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
