BBC Worldwide has launched the Corporation's first YouTube channel dedicated to original programming
The new web portal called Earth Unplugged, is the first of a host of forthcoming YouTube channels which will broadcast web-only shows, outside of the BBC iPlayer portal
Earth Unplugged will bring seven new YouTube-only shows every week created by BBC Earth Productions, including a new weekly news-magazine show called 'Earth Juice.'
Other offerings include Amazing Animal Babies (who doesn't like cute animal babies doing funny stuff?), "animals doing mind-blowing things" in Zoo La La, and YouTube exclusive Walking With Dinosaurs and Deadliest 60 spin-offs.
Viewers will be able to "meet the people who have been inspired by the natural world" in Meet My Planet, while Bug Face will, as the name suggests, feature people with insets on their faces. Hmmm.
Amanda Hill, Managing Director for BBC Earth at BBC Worldwide said: “With Earth Unplugged we’re seeking to connect a new audience with the world around them. YouTube offers a fantastic opportunity to reach people and grab their attention with innovative nature content that will captivate and inspire."
The company says that Earth Unplugged, "forms part of the company’s plans to build a true consumer facing multi-channel network on the platform."
