BBC iPlayer heading to Panasonic Viera 2011 TVs

24 models getting Auntie's on-demand offering

No backwards compatibility for older, web-connected Panny tellies though.

Panasonic has confirmed that BBC iPlayer is coming to all of its new internet TVs. 24 models from the 2011 range will be getting the online on-demand offering, which will form part of Panny’s Viera Connect service.

While this is great news if you’re after a new TV, your luck’s out if you stumped up for a web-ready Panasonic TV last year. The company says the service won’t be available on any old-school models.

Panasonic’s line up of smart TVs include apps, games and even the chance to use Twitter, Skype and Picasa on your box.
