Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC confirmed for June

EA outs new Battlefield 3 DLC gameplay trailer ahead of content's June arrival

Following in the footsteps of the flurry of Elite powered Modern Warfare 3 DLC content, EA has announced plans for a new Battlefield 3 DLC offering

Counteracting the current influx of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC releases, publisher EA has revealed it is to launch three new Battlefield 3 expansion packs with the first gameplay trailer of the upcoming Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC hitting the web.

Set to offer four new multiplayer maps the upcoming Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC has been outed with fans of the ultra realistic first-person shooter to be thrown, as the content packs name suggests, into a series of close quarter combat environments in a high-octane shootout.

Boasting a flurry of “HD destruction and frantic vertical gameplay,” the newly outed map offers the first look at the upcoming Ziba Tower map with EA promising that the upcoming DLC will play host to a selection of new weapons destructible objects.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC Release Date

Landing late last October, Battlefield 3 quickly became EA’s highest selling FPS offering to date briefly topping the UK All Format Gaming Chart before being dethroned by bitter rival Activision’s latest COD offering, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Although a detailed Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC release date has yet to be set, EA has revealed the gaming add-on will touch down in June of this year with new content to be exclusive to PS3 gamers for a week before its Xbox 360 arrival.
