Augmented reality game Star Wars: Falcon Gunner out now
We've got a good feeling about this...
T3 told you that the Star Wars: Falcon Gunner game for iPhones and iPod Touches would be out soon. And here it is.
Star Wars fans can finally get to sit in the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs in this latest game, Star Wars Arcade: Falcon Gunner, and fly through their own neighbourhoods if they wish.
Available on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the 4th generation iPod Touch, this is the first Star Wars game game with augmented reality technology which allows you to make like Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon and blast enemy TIE fighters and other Empire ships.
Developed by Vertigore Games, the augmented reality mode in this first-person game swaps the traditional space background for whatever your device's camera can see at the time. Whether you're sitting in your living room or walking through a park, you'll be able to bring the space battle to you. Users use their touch-screen controls to move around a 360 degree environment and use the Millennium Falcon to fire away.
With more than 20 levels of arcade levels, the game includes moments from the movies such as the asteroid field chase through Hoth and the Death Star escape, not to mention the Kessel run.
If you earn enough credits during the game, you will be allowed to tinker with the most beautiful ship in the Galaxy and make modifications to it.
With retina display support and connectivity to Facebook and Game Centre, users can involve their friends as well.
This app is now available on the UK iTunes store for £2.99.
