Asus to introduce the Fold/Unfold laptop this year
Thankfully not made of paper
Asus has chosen this week to pretty much dominate the pages of every tech site on the planet (this one included), thanks to some eye-catching new kit, along with some mouth-watering concept machines. And one of the latter has just been confirmed for the retail market - the Fold/Unfold laptop.
Yes, even more impressive than the super-slim Eee PC 1008HA, this beauty is inspired by the ancient art of paper folding and ergonomically-enhanced, with the keyboard sliding up to an angle that's going to put less strain no your hands. And when it folds down - well, it's as flat as the proverbial pancake. If you want to see it in action, check out this video.
According to Asus chief Jerry Shen, we're likely to see the Fold/Unfold later this year, probably around late summer. But it's not all good news. The other Asus show stealer, the Dual Panel laptop, looks much more like a 'work in progress'. A dual-screen laptop is certainly something Asus is working towards, but the one on show this week looks like being nothing more than a tease. Shame really.
