Asus has announced a software update for its Transformer Pad 300, bringing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to owners of the 10-inch tablet
Asus rolls out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Transformer Pad 300
Announcing the upgrade on its Facebook page, Asus stated that Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad 300 will start rolling out in North America, with many users reporting to have already received the new OS.
The update makes the TF300 the second tablet on the market to run Jelly Bean, with Google Nexus 7 being the first.
As well as the new Android additions, Asus is adding a raft of its own features, including a global file search system and new power-saving options. However owners will lose official support for Adobe Flash and Wi-Fi Direct.
As for users of other Asus tablets, the company said it will announce further Jelly Bean update plans “in the near future”. We imagine it won't be long before Asus' higher-end Transformer devices get a slice of the Jelly Bean action too.
