ASUS Eee PC 1008HA ready for pre-order
The thinnest, most powerful Eee to date
ASUS has yet to confirm the release date of its latest Eee PC model, the 1008HA, but a couple of websites have already started pre-orders and are expecting to ship in “1 or 2 months”.
The ASUS Eee PC 1008HA is the company’s latest take on the netbook market, packing in all the latest hardware goodies you’d expect. For starters, it sports the new intel Atom N280 processor, the same as the one found in the latest Acer Aspire One, which should provide a noticeable increase in computing performance.
The screen measures in a 10”, offering 1024 x 600 resolution, and it’s housed in a chassis that’s a mere 1” thick. It's not quite Macbook Air thin, but weighing in at a mere 1.1kg and costing £350, you can't grumble,
On top of that, you’ll find 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard disk, further enhanced by a free 10GB online storage option. Connectivity includes 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth, but it looks like there’s no 3G option yet.
As per usual, these diminutive lappies will be available in multiple colours, although only the blue and white models are currently in the pre-sale. We’re also eager to find out whether the keyboard has benefitted from the width increase and how the battery life stands up. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
Prices start from £349.97 for the white version, or £379.50 for the blue one.
