Assassin's Creed IV has been apparently revealed in leaked promotional materials, according to a gaming website
Assassin's Creed 4 outed?
Games Reviews
It feels like only yesterday that Ubisoft were announcing that the next Assassin's Creed would have a new setting and a new protagonist. Well, perhaps because it was only two weeks ago. Nontheless, the gaming industry's collective tongue is wagging in preparation of any news that Ubisoft would be prepared to impart about the new AC game. Only problem is, last night, gaming site Kotaku apparently beat them to the punch.
Kotaku have published an article that claims the site is in possession of a poster that was passed to them by an anonymous source (the best kind) that shows both the name and the setting of the next Assassin's Creed game. If it's genunine, Ubisoft's new entry in its open-world stab-stab series featuring hooded protagonists is going to be called Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and it's going to feature pirates.
The article also references a tipster on Reddit who claims to have glimpsed screenshots of something called AC4: Black Flags on the laptop of a lady on a plane they were on.
"I was on a flight where the lady in the row in front of me was working on a powerpoint presentation on marketing strategies of several gaming titles," teh source, who uses the Reddit handle photoacoustic wrote. "And one that stood out the most was AC4: Black Flags, aimed for release 2013 Holiday season according to her slide. It already had a cool looking logo for it."
If this is genuine, it's going to be interesting to see how an open-world game involving buccanears and - presumably - the open sea wil fit in with a series renowned for allowing protagonists to charging around cities. Chances are, T3 will be able to confirm or deny whether there's any truth to the rumours posted so far in the next couple of weeks. Watch this space...
