Consumers touting a shiny new Apple iPhone, iPad or Mac are most likely to splash out on future devices from the same manufacturer with a new report showing Apple users are the most brand loyal.
The new study, conducted by research firm GfK has found that a staggering 84 per cent of current iPhone users claimed they would look to replace their handset with another Apple blower when they come round to replacing their handset. Just 60 per cent of Android users said they would look to remain with the Google OS.
Having polled around 4,500 smartphone users across the UK, America, Japan, China, Brazil and mainland Europe the GfK report found that just 48 per cent of BlackBerry users said they would remain loyal to the Research in Motion produced devices once their current contract is up.
"Apple is clearly ahead of the game, but developments next year will challenge that," the GfK report said.
“More than 70 per cent of consumers said they would stick with their phones due to their seamless integration of features and access to content.
"The scope for brands to lure customers from rivals has diminished and the richest rewards will go to those providers that can create the most harmonious user experience and develop this brand loyalty.”
