Apple to launch new iMac range?
Out with the old, in with the new
Rumoured to be incoming late in 2008, it now looks like the all-new iMac will be here in the very near future. At least, that's what new evidence is indicating.
According to the Apple Insider site, Apple has warned its resellers that the iMac will be in limited supply in the coming weeks, indicating production has either fallen or ceased. Running down the inventory of a flagship product can only mean one thing - a new one is incoming.
But don't expect a re-invention of the wheel, this is likely to be evolution rather than revolution. Specifically, the new models are likely to feature new NVIDIA chipsets, with the possibility of upgrading the all-in-one desktops to quad-core systems, the latter making a lot of sense with the impending release of Apple's Snow Leopard operating system.
What does all this mean right now? It means think twice before you shell out a considerable amount of money on an iMac. Because if might leave you short of cash and lacking the latest machine in a matter or weeks or months. And you wouldn't want that, would you?
