Having launched a little over a year ago new reports have suggested that the Apple Mac App Store now plays host to more than 10,000 dedicated applications.
Following on from the success of the company’s smartphone and tablet supporting iTunes enhanced iOS App Store, Apple’s Mac App Store is said to have it the impressive milestone figure some 15 months after opening its virtual doors to Mac touting users.
With more than 600,000 applications lining up in the iOS supporting App Store, 200,000 of which have been crafted specifically with the larger screen size touting iPad in mind, the 10,000 figure now filling the Mac App Store is still somewhere behind its portable iDevice counterparts.
Providing a handy digital market place for a selection of games, programmes and software offerings, the Apple Mac App Store is doing away will a selection of now archaic disc-based installations, enabling users to download the add-ons to suit their needs.
