Invites have landed for an Apple event to be held on March 7th where it is expected that the iPad 3 will be announced
Apple has sent out invites for a 'Special Event' which is set to take place on March 7th and could see the official announcement of the Apple iPad 3.
While the invite (above) itself does not explicitly confirm that the third generation of the Apple tablet will definitely be shown off, the message accompanying it which reads, 'We have something you really want to see. And touch.' suggests this is not as cryptic as iconic Apple event invites have been in the past.
Looking back to the announcement of the Apple iPad 2, the second gen iPad was unveiled by the late Steve Jobs on March 2nd and hit UK stores March 25th suggesting that the iPad 3 UK launch could follow suit.
Amongst the iPad 3 features touted, speculation as suggested that it could sport a flurry of new tech in a predominantly unchanged measuring in at just 1mm thicker than its predecessor the hugely successful Apple iPad 2 with the extra space to be taken up by a new 9.7-inch Retina Display, increased storage and an improved camera.
