Updated: Apple iPad 2 officially launches with front and rear-facing cameras, a dual core processor, and a slim new design. Read all about it here
With the official unveiling of the Apple iPad 2 now just hours away, retailer Best Buy has reportedly deleted the original iPad from its inventory lists suggesting the second-gen tablet will hit stores immediately after it is shown off.
Screenshots of the Besy Buy stock inventory system, a system responsible for more leaks than a colander, have been obtained by MacRumors with the original, market-dominating iPad shown as ‘deleted’. The news of the deleted SKUs come on the same day, four new official looking images of the iPad 2 have leaked online.
Seemingly ending speculation that Apple would sell the original iPad at a reduced price alongside its replacement, the deletion of the first-gen Apple tablet hints towards a similar product turnaround to that of the recently unveiled MacBook Pro.
Although the Best Buy system fails to offer any further information in regards to shipment dates or even placeholder data for the upcoming iPad 2, expected to land touting dual cameras, a slimmer form factor and improved speaker, by removing the first-gen tablet from its system the retail appears to be expecting the updated gadget to land within the coming days.
