Details on next-gen OS and updated cloud storage service expected.
Apple will officially show off its plans for iOS 5 and its rejigged MobileMe service at an event in April. That’s according to a “trusted source” who has spoken with the German Apple fanatics at Macerkopf.de.
Word is the bash will take place in the first two weeks of next month. The timing ties in with similar event in 2009 and 2010 which touted iOS 3 and iOS 4 respectively.
The updated MobileMe, which is said to include digital locker skills, music and video streaming over the cloud and a new personal web space for each user, had been rumoured to take a bow at last week’s iPad 2 event.
iOS 5 will likely be released in the summer, at the same time as the iPhone 5. That means we can expect to see it some time in June, when Apple holds its annual WWDC event in San Francisco.
