Security move brings service into line with rival services
Apple has introduced two-step authentication for its iCloud service, following a number of high profile users had their accounts compromised last year.
The move to a two-step authentication method brings Apple's online service into line with security efforts of similar offerings from rivals Google, and social network Facebook.
Second step authentication will only appear when the user is attempting to access the service from a new device or unrecognised device.
iCloud users will be able to set up two step authentication by going to the Apple ID website and clicking on the Password and Security tab.
