Apple iLife and iWork 11 set for Wednesday

New software joining MacBook Air at event

Lack of stock at Best Buy gets Apple fanboys salivating.

The MacBook Air’s refresh isn’t the only news set to come out at Cupertino’s “Back to the Mac” bash on Wednesday. It seems iLife and iWork are set for an overhaul too.

Best Buy’s US website says that both of the current versions of iWork and iLife are ‘backordered’, meaning stock is running low. In Apple’s case, this almost always means a new edition is just round the corner.

This has been backed up by listings on Amazon earlier this summer for an ‘iLife 11 Family Pack’ and also a guidebook to the new software package.

Word is that iLife and iWork 11 will rock 64-bit skills, making them play nice with Snow Leopard. There’s also chatter about more iLife features following iMovie onto iOS. The latter is definitely one to watch out for, so keep an eye here and on our Facebook and Twitter feeds for more as we get it.
