Apple App Store to introduce Volume Purchasing Program
Apple iTunes App Store to add Volume Purchasing Program for business customers
Apple has announced it is to introduce bulk application purchases in the near future with businesses able to easily buy multiple copies of business-centric applications to equip their staff’s iOS and Mac devices.
Pegged as ‘coming soon’ and scheduled to roll out initially exclusive to the US market, Apple’s App Store Volume Purchasing Program for Businesses will offer a simple way for business to equip multiple devices with the same application-based software.
Set to offer a time saving, streamlined purchasing process for corporations, the upcoming Apple service will see businesses select the number of copies of an app they want to purchase with a unique redeem code that can then be distributed to the desired Apple hardware touting staff supplied for each copy.
“Whether you’re providing apps to two employees or ten thousand, the Volume Purchase Program makes it simple to find, buy, and distribute the apps your business needs,” the Apple announcement declared.
News of the App Store Volume Purchasing Program comes just hours after Apple raised the minimum price of applications in the UK to fall in line with US pricing. Formerly available at 59 pence apiece thousands of iPhone, iPad and Mac applications have now been re-priced at 69 pence each seemingly without prior notice being give to app developers.
