Angry Birds was the biggest winner at the first ever Appys Awards claiming top honours for Best Overall app and Best Game app.

The ceremony which was held in London last night and is sponsored by The Carphone Warehouse, celebrated the best in App technology.

Winners were selected by a panel of judges which included first British app millionaire Simon Oliver and T3's very own Luke Peters.

While Rovio picked up the biggest awards of the night, it was perhaps suprisingly beaten by Facebook in the category for Best Time Waster.

Other notable winners included Spotify for Best Music app, Google Maps for Best Time Saver app, while Adobe Photoshop Express beat the likes of FatBooth and Hipstamatic to win Best Photography app.
