Rovio Mobile, the development company behind the globally dominant Angry Birds mobile application has launched the bird-flinging mega app on the Windows Phone 7 platform for the first time.
Arguably the most successful mobile application of all time the inclusion of Angry Birds in the Windows Phone Marketplace marks a big step for Microsoft which is looking to show it can offer the same high calibre of applications as its Google Android and iOS based competitors.
"At last. Angry Birds is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace—a few hours ahead of schedule and so fresh it hasn't even been rated yet," Microsoft's Michael Stroh announced earlier today.
"Be the first—or just hunker down with your phone and get dem pigs. The game, the last in Xbox'sMust have Game series for Windows Phone, is free to try and $2.99 to buy."
In recent weeks Rovio Mobile has continued to expand its Angry Birds offering across multiple mobile platforms bringing 30 new levels to Angry Birds Seasons in the Summer Pignic update with the original Angry Birds app being added to with the Mine and Dine add on.
