Android Market related apps land early

New recommendation tool comes ahead of Gingerbread release

Get hold of related apps on phones packing FroYo now.

It had been assumed that Android Gingerbread’s imminent release would bring a much-needed ‘related’ apps tab to Android Market. But avid fans of Google’s OS can rejoice knowing that it’s already hit certain phones packing FroYo.

.relatedLinksLeft { font-size:12px; width:300px; margin:12px 12px 12px 0; float:left; padding:0px 0px 10px 0px; background:#ececec; } h3.rlTitle {margin:0px; display:block; padding:5px 0 4px 15px !important; background:#ddd; }

Owners of the Motorola Droid and Google Nexus One across the pond have already seen changes, although reports suggest the recommendation engine needs tweaking, with app advice not quite spot on.

That said, it’s a welcome and long-overdue arrival in the Android Market, so we’re willing to forgive a few niggles here and there.

Remember, you can get stacks of free Android apps thanks to our AppVent feature right here on T3.com. Got the new ‘related’ tab? Let us know how it’s working out for you on our Facebook and Twitter pages now.
