Android 4.0 ICS:
Hugo Barra, Google's Director of Product Management dropped the announcement on Google+ this morning - accompanyed by a sunny picture of the Jelly Bean statue outside Google's Mountain View HQ.
The milestone is a steady improvement from the announcement of 300 million Android activations back in February and 400 million at June's Google I/O conference.
Recently Android has been able to take advantage of a dip in sales as potential iPhone buyers hold out for the iPhone 5. Of course, the next few months could be a different story after Apple's announcement tonight.
