Google has expanded its Android Market movie rentals service to the UK, with more than a thousand titles available to download and view on your handset, starting at £2.49.
The move follows the recent launch of Google Books in the UK, and on the smartphone platform's app store. That means UK users now have access to apps, movies and books a la our American counterparts.
You'll need to download the free Movies app in order to begin renting movies, and once they have been purchased you can watch it any time in the next 30 days. Once you've started to watch, it needs to be completed within 48 hours.
You can also rent movies via the Android Market's web store.
Among the launch titles are Fast Five, Green Lantern and erm... Bend it like Beckham.
While this is a boon for smartphone owners, it'll probably come in most handy for Honeycomb tablet users, who've been desperate for an iTunes rival to make use of those lovely big screens.
