Android app news: Android market gets a makeover
New trending option gives Android Market a hint of Twitter.
Google has given the Android Market webstore a new lick of paint to make it easier for users to find the best apps available for download.
The new iteration of the app portal adds new categories like editors choice, New Top Paid and New Top Free apps, as well as giving the charts a visual makeover.
Another new section is Trending Apps, which showcases applications which are popular on any given day and certainly makes it easier for Android users to access the hottest apps available on the market.
The changes were announced at the I/O conference in San Francisco and are now live on the Android Market webstore homepage.
Earlier in the week, Android phone owners in the US were greeted with the Movies category, which allows movies to be rented from the Android Market straight to a smartphone or tablet.
