Online retailer come gadget great Amazon has revealed a series of Kindle sales figures with the full family of eReaders and newly launched Android tablet selling in excess of one million units per week.

Following the Amazon Kindle Fire release and the arrival of the heavily redesigned Kindle eReader Amazon has unveiled the hefty pre-Christmas sales figures with the company’s 7-inch Android tablet touted as “the most successful product” to come from the retailer.

"Kindle Fire is the most successful product we've ever launched," said David Limp, Amazon Kindle VP. "It's the bestselling product across all of Amazon for 11 straight weeks, we've already sold millions of units, and we're building millions more to meet the high demand."

Whilst Amazon usually remains cagey around precise sale figures for its Kindle range, the success of more than a million own branded devices passing in to the hands of consumers across the globe on a weekly basis appears too much for the leading online seller to keep to itself.
