Online retail giant and rising hardware manufacturer Amazon has teased the success of its newly launched Amazon Kindle Fire tablet stating that it had sold ‘millions’ of devices since launch.
Remaining somewhat cagey around its precise sales figures Amazon gave the ambiguous figure suggesting the heavily skinned Android tablet had combined with the newly revamped family of Kindle eReaders to help Amazon to some of its best sales figures.
"Even before the busy holiday shopping weekend, we'd already sold millions of the new Kindle family and Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com,” said Dave Limp, Vice President of Amazon Kindle.
“Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family – customers purchased 4X as many Kindle devices as they did last Black Friday – and last year was a great year."

Having gone on sale in the US earlier this month the 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire is Amazon’s first attempt at a fully fledged tablet with the loss leading device capturing consumers with its minimalist $200 price tag.
With 8GB of internal storage and access to Amazon’s new cloud storage platform the Fire touts an impressive 8 hour continued use battery life and impressive 1024 x 600p screen resolution. An Amazon Kindle Fire UK release date or price has yet to be set.
