Alien game on its way from SEGA

Creative Assembly and SEGA making stand-alone title

After years of fairly rubbish spin-offs and AVP films Creative Assembly wants to make things right again.

Creative Assembly, the team behind the Total War series has started hiring for the production of a stand-alone Alien game with SEGA.

The image appeared after SEGA confirmed that their Creative Assembly studio would begin working on a Alien game with the intention of possibly aiming it towards the next generation of consoles, or at the very least pushing the current boundries of what we see on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

While normally we wouldn't feel the need to get so excited about such an announcement the thing that's got us most excited is that this isn't a movie tie-in. Notorious for being the worst possible types of games, movie tie-ins suceed almost everytime in completely failing to capture the action and suspense of the motion picture.

With that in mind, and considering the amount of effort SEGA is planning on putting into this project (expanding the studio), it's hard not to feel a small tinge of excitement at the prospect of a next-generation Alien game.

Is this news enough to convince you or do you think it'll just be another franchise game? Let us know what you think on Facebook or Twitter.
