Aiptek launches PenCam HD Trio camcorder
A pocket-sized camcorder that really does fit into your pocket
Not just a mini camcorder, the newly-launched Aiptek PenCam HD Trio camcorder could even be classed as tiny.
For once, this is a pocket-sized gadget that doesn't need a pocket the size of a kangaroo's pouch to fit. Indeed, the PenCam HD Trio should fit effortlessly into any pocket, not to mention the palm of your hand, but still packs enough features to make it worthy of a close inspection.
For a start, it can shoot 720p HD movies up to 30fps and can capture 5-megapixel stills, all viewable on the 1.1-inch OLED screen that somehow squeezes onto the rear. There's also the option to use as a voice recorder, software for fast YouTube uploading, 4GB of storage (enough for 120 minutes of video) and a Li-Polymer battery that recharges via USB. You can even show off your (almost) HD movies on your HD-ready telly, courtesy of the HDMI port.
Not likely to shoot the best video around, but if you ever need a HD cam in a hurry, the PenCam HD Trio can be with you 24/7 without much added bulk to your person. Price and shelf date still to be confirmed.
