Acer's 10-inch Aspire One netbook launches

Another day, another netbook

Just a day after the Dell Mini 10 netbook sneaked onto the shelves, Acer is matching it for size with its all-new Aspire One netbook.

According to Acer, the original Aspire One is 'the world's most popular netbook' and with that in mind, it's very much a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. You see, aside from some bold and glossy colours and that 10.1-inch WSVGA LED backlit display, you could read the specification like a mantra.

Which means Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 3G connectivity, a built-in webcam, a choice of an Intel Atom processor, up to 2G of DDR RAM and up to 160GB of storage. Windows XP as you might expect, but up to seven hours of battery life is certainly an unexpected bonus.

No word on price for the 10-inch Aspire One, but with Dell drawing a line in the sand at £349, it shouldn't really go beyond that price point.
