With the Samsung Galaxy Nexus now claiming to have the first true 720p screen the race is on for the tablet to have full-HD or has it already been won?
Information has leaked suggesting the impending arrival of the Acer Iconia TAB A700 a quad-core Tegra 3 powered tablet that could boast specs that will put the Apple iPad 2 to shame.
Italian tech website Notebook Italia found some code inside Acer's support pages which suggests they have a product arriving with a 1920x1200 10-inch screen which would make it the first tablet to be able to play full 1080p HD and would also give it the highest resolution of any tablet available.
Add to that the fact it has the Tegra 3 quad-core processor, recently unveiled alongside the Asus Transformer Prime it'll be interesting to see if this tablet, along with it's 3G variant will blow away the competition.
According to the tech site the tablets will also be running Android's Ice Cream Sandwich operating system however there's been no official evidence pointing towards this, that said even if it did come with Honeycomb a Android 4.0 update would surely be just around the corner.
What do you think, could this be the tablet to beat the iPad 2? Let us know what you think via the comments box below...
