Acer Aspire One D255 with dual-core announced

First Acer netbook with Intel Atom N550 dual-core

Acer Aspire One D255 is a follow-up to the D260 with one difference: the dual-core processor.

Acer is adding to its Aspire One collection with the Acer Aspire One D255.

Almost the same as the Acer Aspire One D260, the Aspire One D255 features the dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor; the first Acer Intel Atom netbook.

Most other changes are superficial such as elimination of chrome elements and dropping of the "flake" colour options.

Sadly enough, this netbook is currently going to be made available only in the US, with no plans at the moment for its release in the UK.

If you still want a Acer netbook though, the Aspire One D260 is releasing in the UK in two weeks, which can be pre-loaded with an Android OS as an option. Or maybe wait a bit longer for an Acer Google Chrome OS powered netbook? Even though Acer denies its availability in the "short-term".
