21st Century Post-It note
Clever twist of technology or complete waste of time?
Much like Marmite only less yeasty, people tend to either love Post-It notes or hate them. Which means you'll likely either love what the brainiacs at MIT have done with them, or you'll think it's sacrilege on much the same level as Vegemite.
Quickies, as they have been dubbed, are Post-It notes for the digital generation, or intelligent Post-It notes if you will. They combine Artificial Intelligence, RFID and ink-recognition technologies while maintaining the famed original format.
Simply write your message on the traditional yellow square, but instead of sticking it on the intended recipient's computer/fridge/forehead, your note is interpreted using the all-new software and forwarded electronically to their phone or PC. The software is even smart enough to recognise different types of note and so, for example, automatically adds meeting reminders to your calendar or searches for and prints answers to questions you post.
Watch the vid for a visual guide to the new and improved Post-It note, and stop leaving those sodding sticky yellow squares all over the place.
