Fujifilm FinePix F30
Late-night action from Fujifilm's super-sensitive snapper.
Fujifilm's tough new compact is one of the best night-time cameras around, capturing goings-on no matter how dim the conditions.
Pics are sharp, bright and colourful by day, but like Batman or a pole dancer, it really comes into its own at night. Push up the ISO setting and you can take pictures with a minimum of random dots, without using the flash.
It's a breeze to operate, with aperture and shutter speed settings for the more adventurous and a good selection of scene modes. It fires up in under two seconds, while the shutter is fast enough for action shots. We even managed to fire off some usable snaps from a moving car.
Battery performance is excellent - each charge gives you up to 580 shots!
Like Lily Allen, although you like it, you can't help wishing it was a little more attractive. OK, it's tough and well built; but that's just a polite way of saying it's too big and the styling is drab.
However, if you love the nightlife, this should be your compact of choice. It takes excellent shots even when it's dark, it's well built, and has great features and battery life.
